Dish Network Drops Lifetime Channels

Dish Network customers received a blow on New Year’s Eve - the company suddenly pulled two channels from its lineup. Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network were axed reportedly due to cost, though Lifetime counters that argument. Now where are viewers supposed to get their fix of woman-in-peril movies? Where will Dish Network-subscribing stalkers pick up ideas? It’s certainly a sad day for many people.

Scrubs Is Returning: Stat!
Posted by Rhys Alexander Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, Scrubs,
Finally! The beloved comedy is coming back on Tuesday, January 3rd. The NBC smash hit has been sorely missed, and viewers are thrilled with its return. Never before has “mid-season premiere” sounded so good. If that weren’t exciting enough, rumors abound that this season will be even wilder and wackier, with all sorts of new developments and top-notch guest stars, including Mandy Moore and Jason Bateman.
When “Scrubs” returns for its fifth season on Tuesday, Jan. 3, viewers are going to see a slightly different show. Unlike series where people stay in high school for 12 years, the characters on “Scrubs” are getting on with their lives. For example, Turk and Carla finally are going to live alone, as a married couple should. J.D. and Elliot live together, not with any sexual tension but as friends, so the show can explore how close you can get to someone of the opposite sex. And the young doctors are now going to become teachers and leave the student role behind.
“I think this fifth season is even more amped up than it ever was because there was a little bit of the attitude, ‘Who knows if anybody will see this, so let’s have fun,’” says Zach. “We wrote and acted what we thought was funny, so we are pretty excited about the season.”

So he’s more than just a pretty face: fan favorite Adam Brody—Seth on The O.C.—is developing his own project. Desperate Housewives Reveals A Juicy Storyline
Posted by Rhys Alexander Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Desperate Housewives,
Poor Bree. A philandering, then murdered, husband. An evil, revenge-driven son. A distant daughter. An insane stalker. And then, taking part in a murder (sort of) herself. Her life sure hasn’t been easy. But of course, it’s much more fun for the viewers that way! And it’s not over yet - it was recently announced that Bree, once the ‘perfect’ housewife and mother, will begin another battle…with the bottle.
The ABC show’s creator, Marc Cherry, says Marcia Cross’ character — who became a widow following her husband’s poisoning and then watched her flipped-out fiance die of an overdose — isn’t reacting well to changes.
“We’re starting her descent into alcoholism,” Cherry tells TV Guide in its Jan. 2 issue, on newsstands Thursday. He says there are some alcohol-fueled moments with her fellow housewives where “it gets pretty ugly.”

What’s the worst thing about the holiday season? The stress? The expense? The fruitcake? No, it’s lousy TV. Surpassing even the weekends as the black hole of television choices, the holiday season seems to provide nothing but endless repeats and hiatuses. Forget about watching your favorite shows in November. Or December. And sometimes January. It’s just not going to happen. Seriously, does anyone need to see ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ again? Give me a fresh House, M.D. or Gilmore Girls episode over that schlock any time! At least this travesty is drawing to a close…maybe if we support each other, we can hang in until mid-January, when the networks regain their sense, and the viewers regain their precious TV.
